Why Phoenix Is on Macy's Short List

Macy's, Inc. laid out its season in a September 24 holiday hiring announcement. The company is filling seasonal part-time jobs at Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury stores, with in-person hiring days on September 24, October 22 and November 19. Phoenix landed on the Macy's list of top store hiring markets alongside Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Seattle and New York.

What Macy's has not said: how many people it plans to hire in the Valley, a national headcount, or a single start time for every store. We won't guess at any of them.

Another Hiring Event the Same Morning

October 22 is also the day of the Phoenix DREAM Job Fair at GateWay Community College, which runs 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on North 40th Street. Different event, different employers, different audience: DREAM focuses on job seekers with disabilities, veterans, students and youth. If it fits you, do the fair in the morning and call your Macy's store about afternoon hours.

💵 What It Pays and What Comes With It

Macy's says every job posting lists its pay range, so you see the number before you apply. The company lists colleague discounts, 401(k) savings, access to earned wages before payday and an employee assistance program among its benefits, with medical, dental and vision coverage based on eligibility.
