PHOENIX, AZ — The Valley's hiring calendar wakes up the moment the heat breaks, and this fall it is already moving. The Arizona State Fair staffed up security in September for its fall run, and ARIZONA@WORK held three Phoenix-area events before the end of the month. Sky Harbor held its monthly airport fair on the first Tuesday in October, West Valley fairs in Goodyear, Maryvale and Avondale followed, and a North Phoenix multi-industry fair and a Scottsdale sales fair ran in mid-October. Still to come: a Macy's holiday hiring day, a TTEC hiring fair in South Phoenix and the November airport fair.

Fourteen events between September 8 and November 3, spread from the West Valley to Scottsdale; ten have already taken place. Here they are in order.

ARIZONA@WORK Hiring Event, South Phoenix — Tuesday, September 8

ARIZONA@WORK City of Phoenix and the Arizona Department of Economic Security are recruiting seasonal security staff for the Arizona State Fair. Pay is listed at $18.50 an hour, the season runs from late September into early November, and the fairgrounds operate around the clock, so there is a genuine spread of shifts rather than one rigid schedule. The work happens at the fairgrounds at 1826 W. McDowell Rd., not at the job center. Organizers say they are looking for dependable people who are comfortable in front of a crowd, which is a fair description of what a fairgrounds gate actually asks of you.

West Valley Job Fair — Tuesday, September 8

A multi-employer fair on the same morning, four freeway exits west. ARIZONA@WORK lists ThredUp, M3 Freight Solutions, the Department of Corrections and Job and Talent among the businesses attending, with more expected. That mix leans warehouse, logistics and corrections, which is exactly what West Phoenix hiring looks like along the I-10 and Grand Avenue corridors. ARIZONA@WORK Hiring Event, Marcos de Niza — Thursday, September 17

The same State Fair security recruitment, run again a week and a half later at the iWORK Center just south of downtown. If you cannot make the 8 a.m. start on September 8, this is the second bite. Worth knowing: $18.50 an hour sits $3.35 above the $15.15 Arizona minimum wage that applies across Phoenix, and seasonal fairgrounds work has a habit of turning into a reference for the next event-staffing job.

Surprise Job Fair — Thursday, September 24

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Surprise Regional Library, 16089 N. Bullard Ave., Surprise

Maricopa County Human Services and the City of Surprise are running this one together, and they have built it deliberately wide: healthcare and social services, manufacturing, law enforcement, education, retail, and transportation and warehousing are all represented. Organizers describe it as opportunities for all skill levels, which in practice means you will find entry-level roles and credentialed ones in the same room. It is a real drive from central Phoenix up the 101 and Bell Road, but for anyone in the northwest Valley it is the best-aimed event of the month.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Job Fair — Tuesday, October 6

The airport runs this on the first Tuesday of every month and it is consistently the deepest single room in the Valley. The City of Phoenix Aviation Department published the October roster on September 1: American Airlines hiring customer assistance representatives, HMSHost hiring cooks, baristas and hosts, Paradies hiring customer service and warehouse, ABM hiring dispatchers and passenger assistants, Bags Inc. hiring baggage handlers and CDL drivers with a passenger endorsement, Worldwide Flight Services hiring warehouse and ramp agents, plus cabin cleaning, floor care and lounge kitchen roles. Benefits vary by employer but several list day-one medical, 401(k) match, and a free parking or Valley Metro pass. No preregistration. Take the light rail to 44th Street and walk on.

Goodyear Job Fair — Thursday, October 8

Phoenix Job Fair at the DoubleTree — Thursday, October 15

Best Hire Career Fairs brings its multi-industry event back to the same North Phoenix hotel it uses all year, just off the Black Canyon Freeway near Metrocenter. The organizer says admission is free for job seekers and that employers span healthcare, finance and insurance, technology, call centers, logistics, manufacturing, construction, education and professional services. Companies that have exhibited at their Phoenix events include the U.S. Army, ADOT, Hyatt, Allstate, Procter & Gamble and UnitedHealthcare. Advance registration is recommended; walk-ins are admitted if there is space.

Avondale Job Fair — Thursday, October 15

Phoenix / Scottsdale Career Fair — Monday, October 19

This one is narrow on purpose. United Career Fairs runs sales-focused events: business development, account management, inside and outside sales, sales management and retail management. Attendance is free for job seekers, and the organizer suggests arriving around 5:45 p.m. It is an evening event in a hotel meeting room rather than a convention floor, so the crowds are smaller and the conversations are longer. If you are not in sales, skip it. If you are, it is the only room on this list built entirely around you.

Phoenix DREAM Job Fair — Thursday, October 22

The volunteer-run Phoenix DREAM Job Fair has confirmed October 22 for its fall edition, built around inclusive hiring for job seekers with disabilities. Community partners listed by the organizer include UnitedHealthcare, Mercy Care, WEDCO, Beacon Group, COPA Health and Banner Health. Macy's Holiday Hiring Day — Thursday, October 22

Macy's named Phoenix one of 10 top hiring markets for its stores this holiday season, and its national hiring day runs at all five Valley stores. ARIZONA@WORK Job Fair with TTEC — Tuesday, October 27

A one-employer morning in South Phoenix. ARIZONA@WORK City of Phoenix has TTEC recruiting for customer service concierge, B2B inside sales and outbound B2B appointment-setting roles, with the organizer listing pay of $18.50 to $23.50 an hour. The catch is the commute: the fair is on 24th Street, but the jobs are onsite at TTEC's Tempe site to start, and "hybrid" in the titles means remote days you earn later, not a work-from-home start. The flyer does not mention registration. Bring printed resumes with your call center, hospitality or sales experience up top, and know your Tempe commute before a recruiter asks.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Job Fair — Tuesday, November 3

The airport's monthly fair returns, and the City of Phoenix Aviation Department has posted a roster of more than 20 employers. Bags Inc. and Worldwide Flight Services are hiring baggage handlers, ramp and warehouse agents and CDL drivers; HMSHost, SSP America, Aramark and the lounge kitchens want cooks, cashiers, baristas and hosts; ABM, HHS and Velocity need passenger assistants, cabin cleaners and overnight floor technicians; and Paradies, Clear and CASA Unlimited are hiring retail and sales staff. No preregistration. It is also Election Day, so plan your morning around it, then take the light rail to 44th Street and walk on.

🔎 How to Pick the Right Ones

Four events are still ahead. Sort yourself quickly:

  • Warehouse, logistics and plant work: the Goodyear and Avondale fairs have passed. Bags Inc. and Worldwide Flight Services are hiring warehouse, ramp and CDL driver roles at the Sky Harbor fair on November 3.
  • Corrections and law enforcement: the 51st Avenue fair on October 13 and the Avondale fair on October 15 have passed. Call ARIZONA@WORK's West Phoenix office at 602-495-6906 to ask about the next one.
  • Veterans: the October 15 Avondale fair, built around veterans, has passed.
  • Food service, customer service, ramp and baggage, cleaning: the Sky Harbor fair on November 3, with more than 20 employers in one room.
  • Office, healthcare, finance, IT, career changers: the October 15 DoubleTree fair has passed. Best Hire returns to the same hotel on December 2.
  • Holiday retail: Macy's on October 22 at any of five Valley stores, with a final chance on November 19.
  • Job seekers with disabilities: the DREAM Job Fair on October 22.
  • Customer service and sales, if you can get to Tempe: TTEC on October 27 at the South Mountain Community Library. The October 19 Scottsdale sales fair has passed.

What to Bring to Any of Them

  • Printed resumes, more than you think you need
  • Photo ID, and your driver's license class and endorsements if you are chasing CDL work
  • Certification or license numbers if you are in a credentialed field
  • A short self-introduction you have actually said out loud
  • Open availability you can state plainly, including overnights for the airport and fairgrounds roles
  • A notebook, so you can write down names and follow up within 48 hours

What Is Not on This List Yet

ARIZONA@WORK posts its calendar roughly a month out, and its October West Valley fairs are now in this guide. Expect more Phoenix and Maricopa County hiring events to appear through the fall, along with the weekly resume and interview workshops the agency runs at its Phoenix centers. Sky Harbor's fair falls on the first Tuesday of every month, and the airport has confirmed November 3, now in this guide. Best Hire has a December 2 Phoenix date already published at the same DoubleTree. We update this guide as those dates get confirmed.

What It Means for Job Seekers

Fall is when Phoenix does its heavy hiring. Resorts and restaurants staff up for the winter visitor season, distribution centers build peak-season crews, the State Fair runs its five-week season, and retailers finish holiday teams by early November. If you are going to run a serious search this year, the next six weeks are the ones that matter. Job fairs are one channel, though, not the whole plan.

Do these Phoenix job fairs cost anything?

The Macy's hiring day is walk-in with no registration, and Sky Harbor's November 3 fair needs no preregistration. The DREAM Job Fair and the October 27 TTEC fair have not published a cost. If cost is a concern for a specific event, contact the organizer before you drive.

Which one has the most employers?

Sky Harbor's October 6 fair, now passed, published a roster of roughly eighteen participating companies, and its monthly fairs have historically drawn several hundred attendees. Of the events still ahead, the November 3 Sky Harbor fair is the biggest room, with more than 20 employers listed.

Do I need to register in advance?

It varies. Macy's needs no registration, and Sky Harbor's monthly fair requires no preregistration at all. The TTEC fair's flyer does not mention registration, and the DREAM Job Fair organizer asks job seekers to confirm details by email.

What does the Arizona State Fair security job pay?

ARIZONA@WORK listed $18.50 an hour for the seasonal security roles it recruited on September 8 and September 17; both hiring events have passed. Arizona's statewide minimum wage is $15.15 an hour in 2026, and Phoenix has no separate city minimum, so that posting sat meaningfully above the legal floor. Tucson and Flagstaff set their own higher rates, but neither applies here.

Is the Surprise job fair worth the drive from Phoenix?

That fair ran on September 24 and has passed. For West Valley and northwest Valley job seekers, the closest event still ahead is the Macy's store at Arrowhead on October 22. The address where you work decides your pay floor in Arizona, not where you live, so a Surprise employer pays the same $15.15 state minimum as a Phoenix one.

What should I wear?

Business casual is the safe default everywhere on this list. Go a notch dressier for the TTEC sales roles on October 27, where you are competing on first impression against people who do it professionally.

Will more events be added?

Almost certainly. ARIZONA@WORK adds Phoenix-area hiring events on a rolling basis, often with only a week or two of notice, and employers announce walk-in recruitments on short timelines. We update this guide as new dates are confirmed.
