West Valley Job Fairs October 8 to 15: Goodyear, Phoenix and Avondale

ARIZONA@WORK has three public hiring events on the calendar between October 8 and October 15: one in Goodyear off Estrella Parkway, one on North 51st Avenue in Maryvale, and one in Avondale. Employers in healthcare, manufacturing, warehousing, law enforcement and hospitality are all on the lists. Bring a resume and plan on talking to recruiters face to face.

Goodyear Job Fair — Thursday, October 8

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | The Community Room, Goodyear Recreational Campus, 420 S. Estrella Pkwy., Goodyear

The first of the three, and the widest net. ARIZONA@WORK Maricopa County lists employers from healthcare and social services, government, hospitality, law enforcement, manufacturing, waste treatment, finance and insurance, and warehouse distribution, and bills the event as open to all skill levels. That mix tracks with what the Goodyear and Buckeye corridor actually runs on: distribution centers along I-10, manufacturers, and a growing ring of clinics. West Valley Job Fair — Tuesday, October 13

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | 3406 N. 51st Ave., Phoenix

The shortest window of the three, so arrive early. ARIZONA@WORK City of Phoenix runs this one in Maryvale, just north of Osborn Road, and names two employers so far: ThredUp, the online resale company, and the Arizona Department of Corrections. Avondale Job Fair — Thursday, October 15

1:00 – 4:00 p.m. | Arizona Complete Health Avondale Resource Center, 995 E. Riley Dr., Avondale

The only afternoon event on the list, which helps if you work a morning shift. ARIZONA@WORK Maricopa County lists health care and social services, manufacturing, state and federal law enforcement, education, transportation and logistics, warehousing, finance and insurance, and hospitality, with a stated focus on opportunities for veterans. Veterans should bring a DD-214 or other proof of service in case an employer offers preference.
